‘Touching Home’: A special screening with the filmmakers on Tuesday, June 22nd

Touching Home starring Ed Harris

Come to the State Theater in Modesto on Tues. June 22 for a very special evening: a book signing and Q&A with twin brothers Noah and Logan Miller, the screenwriters and producers of the film Touching Home, starring four-time Oscar nominee Ed Harris.

Noah and Logan will sign their best-selling book, Either You’re In, Or You’re In The Way (HarperCollins), an autobiography about the mad adventure of making a critically acclaimed movie with no filmmaking experience, no Hollywood contacts and no money. What they did have was a dream. They told their father, before he died in his cell at the Marin County Jail, that they would make a film about him. He had been homeless for the last 15 years of his life and had battled alcoholism. He’d lost his pride, his self-confidence and considered himself a failure. Noah and Logan wrote a screenplay in his honor, as a way of letting him know that they were proud of him, and that his life had been worth living. Their film is about achieving the impossible, baseball, addiction, redemption, forgiveness and, above all, it is about love.

Book sales and signing with Noah and Logan Miller from 6 to 7 p.m. Question-and-answer session will follow the film.

Tickets are $10 or $8 for matinees. There’s more information and the trailer at The State Theater website.
